Women’s Information and Care Service (SIAD)of Pineda de Mar

The Women’s Information and Care Service (SIAD) of Pineda de Mar is a point of reference for the women of Pineda de Mar and a source of specialised assistance to address their needs and demands on an individual, group and community basis.

The general objective of the SIAD is to respond to the different requests for information and care made by women service users, as well as to strengthen their autonomy processes and help overcome all situations of vulnerability caused by gender discrimination.

The SIAD is a specific service for women in the municipality of Pineda de Mar and a space for connection, offering information, guidance and advice with a gender perspective and facilitating access to resources in the women’s care network, especially in matters related to gender violence. It works in collaboration with the other services of the women’s care network. It promotes equality in the municipality through awareness-raising events and activities and helps to improve the quality of life of women citizens, make their experiences and knowledge visible and contribute to eradicating situations of discrimination and gender violence, fostering women’s processes of awareness and autonomy.

The service is aimed at the women of Pineda de Mar, professionals from other services and, in general, anyone who needs to know about the resources available to resolve problems related to discrimination, gender violence, social and labour inclusion, etc.

The SIAD is provided jointly with the LGBTI Comprehensive Care Service (SAI) of Pineda de Mar, which responds to any need for support, assistance or information that citizens may have in relation to sexual and gender diversity. The SIAD and SAI technical team is made up of professionals from Fundación Salud y Comunidad (FSC) with different multidisciplinary profiles from psychology, social work and the legal field. The technical team, together with the service coordinator, is responsible for the planning, intervention and follow-up of the cases referred to the SIAD-SAI. Each year the SIAD-SAI of Pineda de Mar carries out awareness-raising activities with local associations in order to achieve, by raising awareness of gender discrimination, a city free of gender violence, and international days are commemorated, such as:
