Reception and Recovery Service. Home for womenexperiencing gender violence and their sons and daughtersin the Segrià (Lleida)
This is a home that provides shelter and comprehensive care to women and their dependent daughters and sons who need a protected space that enables their process of recovery after experiencing gender violence. The resource belongs to the Department of Equality and Feminisms of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Its function is therefore to support women and their families 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in restoring their self-esteem and autonomy, recovering the rights of which they have been deprived and overcoming the abuse they have experienced.
Over the last year we have supported 55 people: 26 women and 29 girls and boys.
The admission criteria are:
- Women who have suffered physical, psychological and/or sexual abuse in their family environment, who have decided to leave or have already left their home, who do not have the personal, family or social resources to cope with the situation and who do not need a therapeutic resource incompatible with group living in the home.
- Who are at least 18 years old or are emancipated minors.
- Who freely express their wish to enter the Shelter and are willing to begin the improvement plan that they and the professional team will carry out together.
- Who, even if they have not reported the abuse or filed for separation, are willing to do so as soon as possible, as legal protection for themselves and their children.
