KENTO. Inclusion housing for peoplewith a mental health diagnosis (Alicante)

KENTO (a Japanese term referring to that which is healthy and uplifting) is a residential and psychosocial rehabilitation resource for people diagnosed with a severe mental disorder, set up by Fundación Salud y Comunidad (FSC) in the city of Alicante.

Its main objective is to help residents acquire the skills they need for personal and social autonomy in daily life.

We provide support for community inclusion, based on the following 3 cross-cutting pillars:

  • Person-Centred Care (ACP).
  • Quality of life.
  • Rights-based perspective.

KENTO consists of two homes (KENTO I and KENTO II), each with capacity for up to 5 people. They are mixed and located in a traditional Alicante neighbourhood adjoining the city centre. The people supported by this project receive direct support from a team of three professionals with extensive experience in mental health.

The KENTO homes are accredited by the Conselleria de Igualdad y Políticas Inclusivas of the Valencian Community.
