Inclusión de Mujeres Mediante Acompañamiento (IMMA):working with women victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation (Castellón)
Through the IMMA project we accompany women engaged in prostitution, primarily victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation, in an inclusion process based on access to social and health rights.
Trafficking is one of the most extreme forms of violence against women and a serious violation of their human rights, yet it is socially tolerated, turning women into objects of male consumption.
This programme, carried out in street prostitution areas in the province and at the Fundación Salud y Comunidad premises in Castellón, aims to facilitate access to social, economic and health rights as a process of increasing personal autonomy and reducing isolation.
Our work includes the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and access to follow-up, monitoring and, where appropriate, treatment.
Beyond this, we promote inclusion in the local social and health protection systems, providing information, advice and accompaniment when necessary.
This programme is funded by the Ministry of the Presidency, Institutional Relations and Equality, the Consellería de Igualtat i Polítiques Inclusives of the Generalitat Valenciana, the allocation of personal income tax (IRPF) for social purposes and Castellón City Council.
