Psychogeriatric Day Centre“Bizia”

The Bizia Day and Respite Centre is a resource that offers comprehensive daytime care to dependent older people who maintain a sufficient family life context (or, failing that, a social environment that supports them), so that they do not need to be admitted to a care home. It has 35 centre places from Monday to Friday plus 35 weekend respite places, and it belongs to the Instituto Foral de Bienestar Social of the Diputación de Álava. FSC manages it jointly with Grupo Lagunduz through a temporary joint venture (UTE).

Among the improvements that our organisation’s management has brought to this centre, it is worth highlighting the significant increase in the number of activities carried out in different areas of intervention (rehabilitation care, psychological care, educational and leisure activities, family support, etc.).

These improvements and the centre’s smooth running led the Instituto Foral de Bienestar Social of the Diputación de Álava to include the respite programme in 2017.
