Specific Educational Intervention Centre for Minors“La Senda Home for Socialisation”

The “LA SENDA” Centre for the Enforcement of Judicial Measures for Juvenile Offenders is a centre for minors subject to Organic Law 5/00 of 12 January, regulating the criminal responsibility of minors, intended to provide temporary protection and specialised care. It is funded by the competent services of the Junta de Castilla y León.

The purpose of the Centre, which has a total of 8 professionals, is to enforce the custodial judicial measures imposed by juvenile courts under Organic Law 5/2000 on minors aged between 14 and 18 who are subject to a custodial measure for committing acts classified as crimes or misdemeanours in the Criminal Code or in special criminal laws.

The priority objective of the measure is to provide an environment with suitable educational conditions so that minors can redirect the dispositions or shortcomings that have characterised their antisocial behaviour, when this requires, at least temporarily, ensuring the offender’s stay under a regime that physically restricts their freedom. It fosters the all-round development of minors in a normalised social context, with the aim of enabling them to acquire sufficient social competence resources

The “LA SENDA” centre offers three types of care: Open Regime Custody, Living with an Educational Group and Weekend Detention. The “La Senda” home has 6 places, without distinction of gender.
