PASSA - Health Information and Advice Point in Montcada i Reixac (Barcelona)

The Health Information and Advice Point (PASSA) aims to be a point of reference for health promotion in the municipality of Montcada i Reixac (Barcelona). A space where people can find answers to their concerns, questions or problems relating to adopting a healthier lifestyle, and where they can reflect and develop a more critical outlook. Health promotion is understood to include work on emotional, sexual and affective education, awareness of healthy eating, drug use, excessive screen use and gambling addiction.

Since 2021, Fundación Salud y Comunidad (FSC) has managed the PASSA Service in Montcada i Reixac with the aim of offering a personalised service to any citizen, especially children, adolescents, young people and families.

To meet this major objective, a socio-educational health guidance and advice service is offered to detect risk situations and, where necessary, provide support during referral to specialised services. The intervention aims to promote a space for reflection and in-depth exploration from a preventive standpoint, and not only from the detection of and response to problems. For this reason, as set out in the Local Plan on Drugs and Screens (2018-2022), the PASSA service seeks to respond through 4 different areas: information, prevention, care and follow-up, and detection and risk reduction.

The project is coordinated by one professional, with different referral sources and fluid communication among professionals and other local resources, with whom activities such as workshops, talks, awareness campaigns, exhibitions and training for professionals are organised.
