Drug Addiction Care Centrein El Prat de Llobregat

The Drug Addiction Care and Monitoring Centre (CAS) of El Prat de Llobregat is a resource of the Drug Addiction Care Network funded by the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut) of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The general objective of the CAS is to ensure the greatest possible protection of the life, quality of life and well-being of its service users with regard to the prevention and treatment of drug addiction. The intervention is approached from a bio-psycho-social and educational perspective. The team, made up of 9 professionals, is interdisciplinary and works in collaboration with various institutional bodies.

In recent years the centre has been managed by a consortium of three non-governmental organisations highly specialised in the field of drug addiction: Asociación Bienestar y Desarrollo, Grup ATRA and Fundación Salud y Comunidad. Since they took over its management, the team has been expanded and the centre now also opens in the afternoons, bearing in mind the employment inclusion needs of the people it serves.

In addition, the Alcoholism Programme, the Methadone Maintenance Programme and the Syringe Exchange Programme are particularly important among the services offered by the CAS.
