About the Foundation

Innovation and social commitment

We have a large interdisciplinary team of professionals who work in an integrated and coordinated way.

The Health and Community Foundation (FSC) has worked for over 25 years in research, prevention, intervention and awareness-raising on a range of health and social issues that particularly affect groups at risk of, or experiencing, social exclusion. Its goal has always been to improve people's quality of life and to facilitate social integration by promoting health and collective well-being.

In 2025 we managed 161 services and projects in 10 Spanish regions, with an average workforce of 1,204 professionals and 451 volunteers.

Reaching the most vulnerable groups is FSC's main purpose, a challenge that draws on broad experience in different fields and disciplines and applies a new perspective that makes innovative projects possible. FSC is committed to professionalism, continuous renewal and the capacity to improve, in order to adapt to new social realities and needs and so meet these new challenges.

Our aims

General aims

We define our areas of action from an eminently dynamic and multidisciplinary perspective.

  1. 01

To contribute to the promotion of health, social welfare and quality of life in the community through care, reintegration, legal support, research, training and consultancy projects, and through the creation of all kinds of appropriate care and reintegration services.

  2. 02

Rather than confining itself to one specific area of health and social welfare, the Foundation intervenes in a wide range of problems and where they overlap, especially health issues with a social and community dimension or, seen from another angle, health-related social issues.

  3. 03

These actions are aimed at all groups in the general population, without discrimination of any kind, and therefore address the social and health problems of people of any age, gender, race, social condition and nationality. Priority is given to disadvantaged groups or those facing particular difficulties: people with drug addictions, socially excluded people, women who have suffered abuse, older people, young people at risk, unemployed migrants, people with mental illness, etc.

  4. 04

The Foundation's priority, though not exclusive, fields of intervention are alcoholism, other drug addictions, behavioural addictions, HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, older people, health education, the reintegration of prisoners, people with mental and physical disabilities, domestic, youth, vandal, racist and political violence, and mental disorders of all kinds.

  5. 05

Specifically, the Foundation carries out development cooperation actions and promotes solidarity among peoples.

  6. 06

Likewise, the Foundation develops health promotion programmes in the community and in the workplace, with special attention to the prevention of occupational risks.

  7. 07

The Foundation also promotes health, quality of life and civic values among children and young people through prevention projects and appropriate services.

  8. 08

The Foundation may also act as legal guardian or curator of people with mental disorders and other disabilities, and of older people unable to exercise their judgement and will properly, under the terms established by law.

  9. 09

The Foundation works to involve society and encourage its active participation by promoting volunteering, working with like-minded organisations and fostering active cooperation with public and private bodies with which it shares common goals.
