The “lasDrogas.info” portal is a social information and awareness project on drugs, and more specifically on their interaction with the health and social well-being of the community. It was created in 1997 by the Instituto para el Estudio de las Adicciones and is currently run by FSC, Fundación Salud y Comunidad.

The “lasDrogas.info” portal aims to make selected, top-quality information available to professionals working in the field of drug addiction, interested organisations and institutions, journalists, educators, parents, people affected by problems associated with drug use and the general public. In particular, it seeks to provide society with verified, independent, critical, understandable and relevant information.

Although its focus is on psychoactive substances, popularly known as drugs, it also covers behavioural addictions such as pathological gambling, addiction to the Internet or new technologies, and others. Its coverage is primarily Spain and the countries that use Spanish as an official language or language of communication. It also pays particular attention to integrating and disseminating European and global content.

The portal is the world’s leading Spanish-language website on drugs and receives over a million page views a year, particularly from Spain and Latin America.
