LGBTI Comprehensive Care Service (SAI)in Pineda de Mar (Barcelona) [Gestión finalizada]

The Comprehensive Care Service (SAI LGBTI) in Pineda de Mar is a local LGBTI resource and point of reference that responds to any need for support, assistance or information that citizens may have in relation to sexual and gender diversity.

The general objective of the SAI LGBTI is to assist people who suffer, have suffered or are at risk of suffering discrimination or violence on the grounds of sexual orientation (LGTBIQ+), gender identity (that is, whether we identify and feel as a man, a woman or another option) or gender expression (the form and manner in which we express ourselves, which may be masculine, feminine, androgynous or combined), in order to support them and facilitate the most appropriate response to the situation they are experiencing.

The service is aimed at both individuals and organisations, to raise awareness, inform and show the diversity of sexual orientation and gender identity and to prevent LGBTIphobia. It is also a resource around which local public policies revolve, promoting training for public employees and the design and implementation of the actions of the local LGBTI Plan.

The team of professionals of Fundación Salud y Comunidad (FSC) provides the SAI LGBTI jointly with the Women’s Information and Care Service (SIAD) of Pineda de Mar. The technical team is made up of professionals with different (multidisciplinary) profiles from the fields of psychology, social work and law.

This service is part of the Public Network of LGBTI Comprehensive Care Services set up by the Departamento de Trabajo, Asuntos Sociales y Familias de la Generalidad de Cataluña, through the Dirección General de Igualdad and in coordination with the local authorities of Catalonia.
