Inclusion housing for people with a mental health diagnosis, Sabadell (Barcelona)
Inclusion housing for people with a mental health diagnosis is a housing and psychosocial rehabilitation resource: a temporary or permanent home for people with a mental health diagnosis. The flat becomes the home of those people whose personal, social and family circumstances make it advisable. Two have currently been opened in Sabadell (Barcelona).
The general objective is to provide a suitable environment adapted to the needs of the person that enables them to strengthen their personal and social autonomy and supports their integration into community life.
Specific objectives:
- To provide support in community, educational, cultural and
- To encourage the establishment of links with the network of existing community social resources and programmes.
- To support the process of social inclusion.
- To enable a new relationship with themselves that encourages better care of their health.
- To share leisure and free time alternatives.
- To promote interaction between the people supported and their families.
We work from a comprehensive approach in which, through professional support and networking, personalised pathways are created, addressing the needs of service users so that they can achieve the objectives set out in their individualised work plan. Care is provided through group and individual activities.
Networking and community action give meaning to the service, which structures its actions around empowerment and the concept of citizenship as a key element of support. Responsibility and commitment are key elements in achieving the objectives.
The Supported Home Service operates through six intervention programmes that allow greater flexibility in the care offered to people in order to respond to their particular circumstances:
- Organisation
- Reception and coexistence
- Health care and home safety
- Promotion of personal autonomy habits
- Coexistence and promotion of interpersonal and social relationships
- Promotion of leisure and free time
We work in collaboration with the Territorial Coordination Service and the Department of Labour, Social Affairs and Families of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
