CerclesCat:Management of the Programme’s Support Unit (Catalonia)
The Support Unit of CerclesCat is made up of a joint committee of professionals from the Department of Justice and professionals from Fundación Salud y Comunidad, who at the time took part in the implementation of the European project Circles4EU.
From 2014 onwards, the Department of Justice of the Generalitat de Catalunya took over the management of the Circles of Support and Accountability in Catalonia, and CerclesCat was born: a project that consists of supporting and supervising high-risk sex offenders in the period before final release, thus facilitating their reintegration into society and preventing them, as far as possible, from committing a new offence.
The objective of the Support Unit is to contribute to meeting European quality standards in the 6 areas of work covered by the project:
Area 1: Dissemination of the project
Area 2: Volunteer management
Area 3: Supervision of Circle coordinators
Area 4: Operation of the Circle of Support and Accountability
Area 5: Selective and ongoing training
Area 6: Quality management (research group)
