The\u00a0Dependent Units<\/strong>\u00a0are residences located in a community setting for people who are classified in the third prison grade (open regime) and have paid employment and\/or a family or community support network that makes it feasible to begin an inclusion project outside prison.<\/p>\n

Away from the usual containment elements of prison, people’s\u00a0responsibility<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0commitment<\/strong>\u00a0are key elements in beginning a new stage of transition from the closed regime to parole or final release, in a caring and inclusive space based on mutual respect.<\/p>\n

Through professional support and networking, we carry out a\u00a0comprehensive approach<\/strong>\u00a0with personalised pathways of\u00a0support, career guidance and social inclusion<\/strong> tailored to people’s needs so that they can achieve the objectives set out in their individual work plan.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0FSC Baix Llobregat Dependent Unit,<\/strong> with capacity for 13 people and a further\u00a010 in a continuity or follow-up programme<\/strong>, enables people to stay close to their place of residence or work, thus making it easier to reconcile their family life and enabling them to connect with the community.<\/p>\n

Finally, coordination with the prisons and with the Department of Justice of the Generalitat de Catalunya<\/strong>, is another key element of the project, allowing us to jointly design the various actions and to promote, as far as possible, people’s autonomy and gradual deinstitutionalisation, thereby reducing reoffending.<\/p>\n
