Its general objective is to reduce sexual violence, increase awareness about the reality of sexism among attendees of nocturnal or daytime festive spaces, and promote safer and more egalitarian nightlife environments.<\/p>\n

The specific objectives of this two-year project (2020-2021) are:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To produce and disseminate knowledge about sexual violence in nightlife environments in Europe.<\/li>\n
  2. To engage professionals working in nightlife in the denormalization of sexism and the prevention of sexual violence.<\/li>\n
  3. To guide on best practices and train in the prevention of sexual violence to harm reduction professionals working in nightlife environments.<\/li>\n
  4. To raise awareness about the importance of passive observers in the denormalization and prevention of sexual violence among party attendees.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This is a project funded by the European Commission through the REC Program (Rights, Equality, and Citizenship) coordinated by the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Catholic University of Portugal, with a team formed by the entities Fundaci\u00f3n Salud y Comunidad through the Noct\u00e1mbul@s Observatory (Spain), Club Commission Berlin (Germany), Ka\u0146epes Kult\u016bras centrs (Latvia), Re Generacija (Serbia) and in collaboration with Newnet (European network) and Kosmicare (Portugal).<\/p>\n

    MANIFESTO:<\/p>\n

    Sexism Free Night is a project involving nightlife promoters, NGOs, and a University to promote safer and more egalitarian nightlife environments.<\/p>\n

    We stand for:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. A future in which nightlife adopts a gender perspective in promoting safety, diversity, and valuable experiences for everyone.<\/li>\n
    2. The recognition of the key role of nightlife in shaping urban scenes and identities, offering spaces for creative development, experimentation, and cultural activation of individuals and communities.<\/li>\n
    3. Counteracting a male-dominated, binary, gender-stereotyped, and structurally unequal industry that limits opportunities, promotes violence, and compromises freedom of expression and transcendence.<\/li>\n
    4. Incorporating gender into nightlife through a multi-component and participatory approach aimed at nightlife cultures and stakeholders.<\/li>\n
    5. Cooperating with other initiatives that contribute to the eradication of sexism by joining efforts in intervention with survivors or perpetrators of violence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
